Christy who holds a PhD in History, was a lecturer at UC Santa Cruz before coming to Castilleja. She currently teaches Cultures & Civilizations and several electives -- Introduction to Economics, AP Macroeconomics, Asian Studies and International Relations -- in the Upper School. In 1997 she was the recipient of the UC Regents Dissertation award and in 2001 was appointed a research fellow by the Center for the Study of Law in Society at UC Berkeley's Boalt Law School. Born and raised in northern California, she lived and researched in Russia before moving back to the Bay Area, where she has settled with her husband, her three sons, and a menagerie of pets.
