ACE Center

Opened in 2010, the Center for Awareness, Compassion, and Engagement (ACE) supports students' ability to live lives of purpose by facilitating opportunities for leadership, global education and community action, many of which are student-led. In addition, the Center collaborates with faculty to develop authentic experiences for student engagement, develops programming for Global Week, oversees class- and school-wide community action initiatives, and supports a range of community partnerships, including a robust internship program. Margarita Espinosa Library

Castilleja recognizes the importance of information skills in the 21st century. With a rich array of print, media and online resources, the library plays an integral role in helping students develop their capacity to locate, evaluate, and apply information and is a hub of student activitity. Classes frequently visit the library and groups use collaborative work spaces to do projects. Librarians work in collaboration with teachers to offer instruction and assistance with research and project design. The library also hosts frequent readings with authors as well as opportunities for students to showcase their own work. Learn more by visiting the library website.

College Counseling

The College Counseling Office seeks to empower students to direct their own college searches and reach their college decisions by providing information, advice, reflection, and resources to support them (and their parents) throughout the process.  A natural extension of Castilleja's educational philosophy, the college counseling process emphasizes independent thinking, introspection, personal responsibility, leadership and informed decision making. We believe that the college search process should be student-centered, supportive, and even fun. Learn more.

Counseling & Social-Emotional Learning

The Department of Counseling and Social-Emotional Learning
at Castilleja School supports the social and emotional growth of students, faculty, staff and families by offering counseling services, education and referrals. We work with the Castilleja community by promoting social and emotional well-being in a strength-based and collaborative way. Learn more.
Technology

Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, it is not surprising that technology plays a major role at Castilleja. From SCRATCH programming apps and Smartboards to ipads and the Bourn Idea Lab - students routinely use technology to work collaboratively, explore scientific and mathematical concepts, practice languages, and conduct research. Many students explore advanced uses of technology including digital photography, digital video production, robotics, and computer programming. Our 1:1 laptop program is enhanced by over 300 computers in use across campus in classrooms, a digitial media lab, and the library.
