I entered Castilleja in 9th grade. I am on the Casti water polo and swimming team! I am also a leader in training for the ACE Org focusing on Lucile Packard Children's hospital. These are two things I sincerely enjoy and am passionate about. I have committed countless hours to these activities and would LOVE to talk about them with you!

I love playing volleyball and hanging out with my friends on the circle! Casti has given me the opportunity to start so many of the activities I now love and the space to make mistakes without judgment. I started volleyball in 6th grade and have played every year since then on the school team. I loved my volleyball experiences at Casti so much that I decided to start club in 9th grade, and now I am continuing club in 10th grade. Castilleja has been a place where I feel comfortable trying new things and have made so many close friends in all the different clubs and activities I have participated in. I also love the culture at Casti and how everyone is so uplifting and supportive, especially in classes and in enrichments.

I joined Casti in 6th grade. Being in this community has grown my confidence immensely, so feel free to ask me about being at an all-girls school! I compete in and lead the speech and debate team, am a lead of peer tutoring, run cross country, and lead the National Science Bowl club. All of these organizations are facilitated by students and most of these clubs are student-created, which has allowed me to grow as a leader and empower other young girls. So, please ask me about leadership opportunities at Casti if you're interested!

As I continue to grow as a learner at Castilleja, I still find myself divided between my love for both humanities and STEM. As such, when 9th-grade rolled around, I decided to participate in a myriad of extracurriculars related to both fields, which subsequently led to my joining the Castilleja robotics team. As a freshman, completely foreign to the idea of a machine shop, computer aided design, and engineering as a whole, I expected my commitment to the team to feel strenuous. However, upon walking into the lab for the first time, I realized that my hesitancy was out of place; the build leads fostered my ability to grow in a new environment, and led me down a path of further self-discovery regarding my interests.

Outside of school, I love drawing, reading, volunteering, and especially spending time with my friends. I chose Castilleja because I was drawn to the strong sense of community and the traditions that bring everyone together. The way the school empowers and motivates students through so many opportunities really inspired me. One thing I’m especially committed to is my art class—I’ve learned so many new techniques that have helped me grow as an artist, and I’ve even started working on my own projects outside of school to keep exploring and improving. Art is a big part of my Castilleja experience!

I entered Casti in 9th grade. I love reading and volunteering outside of school. What brought me to Castilleja was the the supportive environment and I was inspired by the mission of the school. Ask me about cross country, track, my reproductive justice ACE Org, and DEIJB.

I enjoy reading and playing lacrosse. I have played lacrosse at Castilleja since sixth grade. I've gone from a completely inexperienced player that didn't even know lacrosse was a sport to a more skilled player who knows more about the game. In sixth grade, lacrosse helped me get to know a lot of people in my grade better and helped me make friendships I still value. I also love how Casti has student coaches from upper school that lead practices and warm-ups. Lacrosse at Casti has helped me to build relationships with people from all grades and has lead to a lot of laughter filled practices.

Outside of school, I really enjoy reading, listening to music, and skiing—they’re a great mix of relaxing and active things I love to do. At home, we also speak Tamil, which is a big part of my family life. I chose Castilleja because I love how the all-girls environment makes it easy for everyone to feel comfortable speaking up and really engaged in discussions. One of my favorite things at school is being part of Counterpoint, our student-run newspaper. It’s such a fun way to get involved in journalism and improve my writing, and I like that it’s built into the schedule so anyone can join. You can ask me about student life, leadership opportunities, or the school culture—I’d love to share what it’s like!

I play the piano, code, and draw! I am committed to our robotics team at Castilleja(Gatorbotics), actively participating in the programming subteam. Our student-lead team has a mission to empower girls in the STEM field and provide guidance to our new members in the process of constructing a robot. Through our weekly meetings and collaborative efforts, we cultivate numerous strong friendships within our Castilleja community. Ask me about my experience entering Casti as a new 9th grader.
