Matt Callahan earned an BA in History and French and an MA in French and Francophone Studies from UCLA, followed by an MA in Curriculum and Instruction from Bay Area Teacher Training Institute. He previously taught English at Hillbrook School, as well as at Maclay School and Catlin Gabel School. With a background in literature and history, his interests include interdisciplinary approaches to literature, philosophy, and progressive education. In his free time, Mr. Callahan loves spending time with his family, cheering on the San Francisco Giants, and going on long bike rides.
Steven Lai holds a BA in Economics and Mathematics from Amherst and MEd in Secondary Education from UMass Boston. Born in Hong Kong and raised in California, Mr. Lai enjoys the "aha" moments that come from teaching, intrigued by finding better ways to teach mathematics. Outside of school, Steven enjoys sports (mainly basketball), gaming, and trying restaurants around the Bay Area.
