Castilleja’s faculty are intelligent, passionate educators who are dedicated to teaching today’s young women how to become tomorrow’s leaders. Castilleja’s faculty help ensure that every student is afforded the opportunity to become her best self through a carefully scaffolded 6th through 12th grade education which includes experiential and project based learning, global engagement, social impact, and Social and Emotional Learning. To help faculty continue a path of lifelong learning and exploration, the school provides a robust evaluation and professional growth plan, summer curriculum grants, and special funds to augment classroom learning with experiential learning. Faculty with more than seven years of employment are eligible for a semester long sabbatical for travel or immersion into a subject of interest.

Castilleja provides a rich benefit program to employees who work 50% or more. These include: medical, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance plans. Break, sick days and Personal Time are provided to all employees. Non-Faculty have generous vacation time afforded to them. A rich retirement plan helps to provide for future financial security. At Castilleja, Global engagement is embedded in the curriculum. Beginning with the 6th grade, projects and interactive learning allow students to explore different cultures and understand the many challenges faced throughout the world. The school hosts a Global Week which provides all students and faculty the time and resources to deeply examine globally relevant topics, listen to world renowned speakers and participate in workshops. Through a generous endowment, each Junior student is provided with the opportunity to travel outside of the United States. Faculty are encouraged to participate in these global explorations and have the opportunity to accompany the students throughout the world. Whether it is to explore sustainability in China, impoverishment in the Dominican Republic, the legacy of colonialism in Senegal or the role of women in India, each trip allows for extensive learning about the complexity of a global world.
