Castilleja provides an outstanding benefits program for employees and their families.  We offer three medical plans, dental coverage, vision coverage, long-term disability and life insurance. Our Employee Assistance Plan to helps you manage emotional, financial, and legal concerns.  Our pre-tax Flexible Spending and 403b plans provide financial savings options. In addition, after one year our 403b plan provides a generous employer contribution to help you maximize your retirement savings.

As a condition of employment, all employees must pass a Department of Justice and FBI background check.

Medical Plan

Employees have the choice of three medical plans:

  • Kaiser HMO
  • Blue Shield Health Maintenance Organization (HMO)
  • Blue Shield Preferred Provider Option (PPO)
DENTAL PLAN

Guardian Dental is widely accepted and provides a unique “roll-over” feature, that allows employee access to unused benefit funds to be used in the next plan year.

VISION PLAN

Vision Service Plan (VSP) provides our employees with a wide choice of optometric services and coverage.

DISABILITY INSURANCE

Financial security is provided if an employee becomes disabled and is unable to work.

Life Insurance

Your loved ones have peace of mind with Castilleja’s generous life insurance plan.

Retirement Plan

Castilleja provides a generous retirement plan through TIAA-CREF Defined Contribution retirement plan.

  • Employees may set aside up to 20% of their salary on a pre-tax basis to save for retirement.
  • After one year, Castilleja contributes an amount equal to 7% of each qualified employee’s base salary into the employee’s retirement account if the employee contributes 3%, so an employee saves 10% of their salary each year towards retirement with a contribution of only 3%.  After five years, if the employee sets aside 1% the school will contribute 10%.

Employees and dependents have access to free counseling sessions as well as legal, financial and childcare advice

GENEROUS TIME OFF and CAMPUS Benefits

Castilleja provides over 20 days off during the year, including Diwali, Eid, Juneteenth, and Yom Kippur. Employees are also given two personal days, a birthday day, sick time and vacation time. Employees are given a free lunch every school day and have access to the school's pool, fitness center, and library. 

2022 Healthcare Plan Transparency Data

Federal law requires that group health plans make certain information publicly available to better aid consumers in understanding how they will be charged for the health services they receive. Specifically, health insurance will need to begin posting pricing information for covered items and services as well as out-of-network providers and facilities cannot balance bill for items or services that result from an unforeseen, urgent medical need at the time a service is furnished.  This information is posted in compliance with the 2022 Healthcare Plan Transparency Data.
