Exhibiting artist presents workshop on color theory

Current Anita Seipp Gallery exhibitor, Mitchell Johnson, presented an engaging and highly analytical workshop on color theory to 17 students in Drawing and Painting II. The workshop covered how we see color and how to think about how context influences what we see.  He revealed that "warm" and "cool" and "dark" and "light" can only be understood in relation to scale and surrounding colors. Students are working on collages that reveal the ideas that he expressed.

Be sure to stop by the Gallery this month to see the exhibit and join us for a public reception for Mitchell Johnson and 20 years of his painting in the Anita Seipp Gallery on February 14, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. The painter will be bringing in several additional works for viewing and sale. Everyone is welcome to attend. Valentine's Day chocolate will be served!
