26 Castilleja students (25 eighth graders and one ninth grader) competed in the California State National History Day Competition. They showed off documentaries, papers, exhibits, websites, and performances on a wide range of categories, including the Lost Colony of Roanoke, the Loving v. Virginia interracial marriage case, immigration, photojournalism, Cold War spies, the Apollo Program, Nellie Bly, and women's suffrage. Seven of the projects made it to finals against some outstanding competition from around the state.
