During the final six weeks of Middle School, all middle school students participate in Explo. Explo is an inquiry-based process at each of the three grade levels. This year, Explo kicked off with a full Middle School field trip to Coyote Lake in Santa Clara County. This field trip provided the opportunity for students to work in intergrade groups, and to learn more about the environment from a ranger, to hike, and to collect data. Back in school, the students examined the data they collected, which further inspired them to ask a question that tied their grade level themes to the environment. Students then researched, developed an experiment, and ran their experiment. On May 23 from 5:00-6:30 PM, the students presented the results of their experiments at the Celebration of Explo.
