Yidrienne Lai and Chistopher Cheng P ’26 ’28 ’31
Having spent her career in male-dominated fields, Yidrienne says she gives because “students leave with a maturity and confidence that lets them take ownership of their own evolution.” About their gift to the Open Their World campaign, Chris adds, “I work in real estate, so I know how important it is to have best-in-class facilities to maintain a competitive edge."
Jeanne Floyd Downs ’80 and Helen Floyd Sullivan ’82
Both sisters are dedicated annual donors, giving to the Spanish and science departments and the swim team to reflect their interests as students. “It’s important to us that faculty and coaches have the resources to do their jobs well,” Helen says. Jeanne adds that they learned the importance of philanthropy as students: "Castilleja teaches girls to be good stewards of the world and make a difference.”

As a recipient of financial aid herself, Sarah says, “I know how transformational financial support can be, and I am grateful to help others navigate their educational paths.” Greg adds that through their giving, “Our hope for the next generation is that they will embrace the challenges and opportunities that come their way just as our daughters have.”

“I began Castilleja as a shy and quiet person, and through my time on Gatorbotics, I learned to have the confidence to reach out and ask for opportunities,” Sarah recalls about her time around the Circle. Reflecting on supporting Castilleja, she says, “If you benefit from a place, think about how you can give back to that institution”
