Castilleja Breaks Ground on New Campus

After more than a decade of dedicated efforts from the entire Castilleja community and supporters throughout the City of Palo Alto, we broke ground on our reimagined campus.

Long-time visionaries who have moved this project forward when it was still only an idea came together to celebrate. They passed the ceremonial shovels to current school leaders to dig in and carry the project forward.

Celebrating this moment with so many eras of invested believers in attendance emphasized continuity and reinforced the enduring importance of Castilleja’s mission. Work has now begun in earnest on Phase 1 of our project. Although timelines are always subject to change, this is our projected schedule:

  • September 2024 - Construction on Phase 1, the underground garage, begins.

  • Fall 2025 - Phase 1 is completed and construction of the academic village begins.

  • End of 2025 - Construction of the academic village is completed.

  • January 2026 - Classes shift to the academic village. Phase 2, the modernization of all learning spaces, begins.

  • During the 2027-28 academic year - The modernized campus opens.

We want to thank our countless supporters within the Castilleja community and  throughout the City of Palo Alto for helping us reach this incredible moment. We are very excited about what our beautiful, sustainable new campus with state-of-the art facilities will mean for the next generation of women leaders. The mission is bigger than all of us, and this campus modernization will ensure it remains as strong as ever.
