Neighborhood Portal > I Support Castilleja

As a supporter of Castilleja's effort to prepare more young women to be tomorrow's leaders, your voice is important, and we want you to be heard! Please write to the City of Palo Alto to share your opinion. Letters are most valuable when they reflect your own experience and also highlight some of the important issues that the City may consider regarding our application. We have identified several that you may choose to include:

  • Castilleja is an important part of Palo Alto’s history and has been changing young lives on its existing campus for over 100 years.
  • Castilleja is the only non-secular all-girls middle and high school in the Bay Area. There is an ever-increasing demand for this unique learning environment that educates young women to become tomorrow's leaders.
  • Castilleja has worked hard in recent years to respond to neighbors' concerns and has reduced traffic during peak hours by nearly 25%.
  • Castilleja is a community leader in public partnerships, engaging with a variety of local organizations.
  • Castilleja’s generous tuition assistance program makes a Castilleja education possible for students who would not otherwise be able to attend.
  • Castilleja is a leader in sustainable practices, and a model for schools and businesses in Palo Alto and beyond in reducing traffic and carbon footprint.
