Q&A with Allie the Gator, the Castilleja Mascot

Have you heard? Castilleja’s Gator mascot got a makeover! After Allie the Gator’s big reveal during Field Day, we sat down with her to get the lowdown on everything from career paths to boba. 

Thanks for chatting with us today, Allie. Can you please share what you love about your job?
I love posing for pictures with the kids and leading cheers at home games. 

What did you want to be when you were little?
My parents wanted me to work as a zoo alligator because of the job stability, but as a baby gator, I was always dancing and cheering. I decided to pursue mascotry and I never looked back!

Do you have a favorite fashion brand?
Crocs. Definitely Crocs.

We must ask: what's your favorite beverage? 
Gatorade. Boba is a close second, especially the matcha flavor. The greener, the better.

We know you love sports. But what about the arts?
I'm very fond of the California Academy of Sciences. I used to love visiting with my buddy Claude. 

What is your favorite afterschool activity at Castilleja?I heard great things about Gatorbotics and also Edupalooza because they do experiments by the water. I love to dance, too, so I hope to be in a dance or a musical production some day, especially The Little Mermaid.

Is there a dish at the Casti cafeteria that you especially enjoy?
I will never say no to a Castilleja’s chocolate chip cookie. I also enjoy Meatless Mondays. 

What’s your biggest fear?
Silent pep rallies and empty student sections. My blood turns cold just thinking about it.

Anything that stands out to you about Castilleja students?
I love how well-rounded our students and how much they enjoy sports and supporting one another. They're truly women learning, women leading in action!

Be honest: have you ever had a uniform violation?
All of my outfits are dress-code compliant. I love twinning with my friends!

What advice can you offer our students?
Be fierce and don't be afraid to roar for your teammates. Oh, and floss daily! I go through up to 3,000 teeth in a lifetime, so take my word for it.
